The Workshop I Wish Someone Had Handed Me

Fifteen years in HR, and I could tell you exactly what a severance package should look like before I ever had to read my own.

That's the part nobody prepares you for. Not the logistics of a layoff, but the disorientation of it. I built the Reset Framework in the months after mine, mostly because I couldn't find anything that separated "figure out who you are without this job title" from "here are 10 resume tips." Everything out there skipped straight to tactics.

So this month, for the first time, I'm teaching the framework live, in a workshop I'm calling Rebuild With Purpose.

Why a workshop, and why now

I run 1:1 client work through this same framework every week. But a layoff doesn't wait for an opening in my calendar, and not everyone is ready for 1:1 work when they first land here. A career transition workshop gets the same three stages in front of more people, faster, at a price that's a fraction of coaching.

It's virtual, capped at 20 people per session, and built around the same three stages I use with every client.

Recovery, Reflection, Redesign

Recovery comes first, and it's the stage everyone tries to skip. It's not a to-do list, it's the unglamorous work of steadying yourself: routine, realistic expectations, and quieting the voice that says you should already have this figured out.

Reflection is next. Not what's on your resume, what you're actually good at and actually want to keep doing. This is also where you find what makes you stand out from another applicant, instead of getting lost in the AI sludge every job board is drowning in right now.

Redesign is last, and it's where strategy finally earns its place, because by then it's built on the first two stages instead of standing in for them.

The details

Two dates to choose from:

  • Tuesday, September 15, 8–9pm CT

  • Monday, October 5, 8–9pm CT

$70 per session, virtual. You can join anonymously, camera off, different name on the roster, if that's what you need right now.

I keep it small on purpose. Twenty people means I can actually see you, not just talk at a grid of faces.

If you've been circling the idea of doing this work but haven't had the hour to sit down and do it alone, this is that hour, with company. Contact me if you have questions before you register.

Otherwise, you can register here.

Questions people ask before signing up

What is the Reset Framework? Three stages, always in this order: Recovery, Reflection, Redesign.

Who is Rebuild With Purpose for? Anyone navigating a layoff or career transition who wants structure before they start applying, not more tactics on top of the ones they already have.

Can I attend anonymously? Yes. Camera off and a different name on the roster are both fine.
